Rick Kedik finished second and won big bass.John Gipson and Rick Morrison (Niles) won the River Rats Classic last weekend on Barron Lake in Niles.
Despite windy conditions and cold temperatures, a lot of fish were caught. Water temperature was in the low 60s.
The winners had five bass weighing 18.42 pounds caught on crankbaits and Erie Darters. Rick Kedik (Niles) fished alone and was second with 15.18 pounds caught on crankbaits. He also won big bass with a 5.54-pound largemouth. Al Shinabargar and Paul Grafton (Valparaiso, Ind.) used spinnerbaits and crankbaits to catch 13.67 pounds to finish third.
